These quality Canadian made all-metal 4 level chinchilla cages are made with 1/2" x 2" opening, 14 gauge galvanized wire mesh for the exterior of the cage. This size opening prevents even the smallest of chinchillas from escaping.
Due to the overall outer dimensions of this cage Canada Post will not ship. We would ship via FedEx Ground or Greyhound Courier whichever is the most cost efficient.
NOTE: This cage is fully assembled which leaves the interior of the cage empty. You may order extra items that will fit inside the cage without increasing the shipping cost.
The shelving is 1/2" x 1/2", 16 gauge galvanized wire mesh, which makes for easy cleaning as chinchilla feces drops through to bottom of the cage. This cage comes with a full shelf located at the halfway point with and opening and ramp to the shelf below.
The 9" deep top and bottom shelf extend the width of the cage and are located at the halfway points between the full-size middle shelf and the top and bottom of the cage, they are both joined to the middle shelf by a ramp. This cage gives you plenty of places to add Super Pet Leap-N & Sleep-N-Ledges (ID #'s SP60380 & SP60381) for your chinchilla to jump and play on.
You can also place Super Pet Grassy Mats (ID #SP60392) and Super Pet Chin Chillers (ID #SP60420) on the wire shelves to provide your pet chinchilla with further places to rest off the wire shelving.
The top shelf makes a perfect place for attaching your pets feeding dishes (ID #FTC0610 & #FTC0620) keeping them at high positions in the cage, which greatly reduces the possibility of contamination falling into the dishes from above.
This cage comes with a 7-7/8" x 7-3/4" door opening in the lower right area of the cage and another door 7-7/8" x 9-3/4" located above the middle shelf providing you easy access to both the top and bottom half of the cage. The top door opening is large enough to install a small flying saucer wheel, which we will be carrying early in 2006.
There is also plenty of room to add a house on either the middle shelf or the bottom of the cage with plenty of room to include a litter tray on the bottom for those who wish to litter train their chinchilla. You can also hang a Super Pet Super Sleepers- Comf-E-Cube (ID #SP62264), which is by far our chinchilla's favourite hammock. (We have one of these wonderful hammocks in all of our chinchilla's homes) Or you could hang another style of hammock or a Ferret Trail Roll About Ball (ID # SP62120) through a branch for you chinchilla to play or sleep in.
The 3" deep 26 gauge sturdy slide out tray helps reduce the amount of bedding scattered out of your pet's cage. Trim & Tray colours vary from picture shown.
This cage, although originally designed as a pet rat cage has proven to be a favourite for both chinchilla and degu owners as well.
